Internal NiMH battery pack recharges from AC, or solar (plays 6 hours on full charge). Or, charge by cranking (15 minutes of radio time with 90 seconds of cranking).
 Also works for weeks with 3 AA’s (not included), but every home should have one for its self-powered, emergency modes. Includes digital alarm clock.
