Ferrari's 1961 Short-Wheelbase Berlinetta #2689GT was one of just twenty-two, lightweight racing GT's specially built for LeMans and European endurance racing. Ultimately, these SWB Berlinettas dominated the competition, joining Ferrari's earlier LWB Tour de France, and the subsequent 250 GTO, as the most successful endurance racers in Ferrari's illustrious history. This is the actual car now owned by my friend Bruce Meyer that won the GT Class at LeMans in 1961, finishing 3rd overall, piloted by Pierre Noblet and Jean Guichet. I've ridden in the real car, and it is uncanny how CMC captured every detail to perfection.
