Former U.S. Navy SEAL Alden Mills has been busy — after inventing Perfect PushUp, he’s added Perfect PullUp too! As a SEALs Platoon Commander, Lieutenant Mills became concerned with the disproportionate number of training injuries linked to outmoded training techniques.
Mills learned that the more muscles are allowed to naturally rotate during exercise, the better the results and the fewer the strains. Although pushups and pullups remain the staple exercise for all 3 phases of U.S. Navy SEALs Basic Training, they put stress on wrists, elbows and shoulders by preventing the natural rotation of muscles and joints. But Perfect PushUp’s (and now Perfect PullUp’s!) handgrips rotate as you exercise, engaging more muscles in the arms, chest, shoulders and back. More importantly, it also makes exercise easier on the body, by reducing strain on tendons, ligaments, and muscles.
