British OpenWhen Arnie decided to enter the centennial 100th British Open at St. Andrews back in 1960, he singlehandedly restored the Open to its former glory. He won the Open in 1961 and 1962, and forever endeared himself to British fans. In 1995, 35 years after his historic first trip, Arnold returned to The Old Course at St. Andrews for his final appearance. As he crossed the picturesque arched stone bridge on the 18th hole, Arnie paused and saluted the gallery with a poignant farewell — a bittersweet moment captured forever on our Commemorative Pennant.

The British Open - Limited Edition of 750

I had the good fortune to be raised in Western Pennsylvania in the 50's and 60's, when Arnold Palmer rose to the pinnacle of professional golf. Arnie hailed from Latrobe, PA, not far from where I grew up, so we got to watch him play in local events before he hit the big time. So I can still close my eyes and see Arnie lashing 3-woods boldly at treacherous par 5's even as a teenager, while others played safe! He brought daring, glamour, and crowds to the game he changed forever. And he taught a generation of golfers the true meaning of competitive fire, and grace under pressure. Naturally, we're quite proud that Arnold asked us to offer these nostalgic, Limited-Edition Pennants saluting his final appearances at the majors he won.

Elegant— Each pennant is richly framed in solid cherry, with elegant navy suede matting, and measures 22.5"x 13". Handsome embroidery of more than 45,000 stitches creates shimmering, 3-dimensional graphics. Historic photographs from each event are permanently bonded to the wool pennants, and each bears Arnie's embroidered autograph. An engraved plaque recounts Arnie's achievements. On the reverse, Arnold's personal hologram and Limited Edition number attest to the absolute authenticity of these highly collectible artifacts.

U.S. Open - Beginning in 1953 at Oakmont Country Club, Arnie appeared in 31 consecutive U.S. Opens. His victory at Cherry Hills in 1960 was, and still is, the greatest come-from-behind victory in tournament history. Arnie's U.S. Open quest ended where it began, at Oakmont in 1994.
