I first met Michael Ringer at the Lake Placid Lodge, a beautiful and historic Grand Hotel built in the classic Adirondack camp style right on the shore of pristine Lake Placid. There, Michael Ringer's bronze sculptures and evocative Adirondack prints grace the lobbies, verandas and dining areas of one of the most exclusive resorts in the East. Michael lives on the St. Lawrence River, and his paintings are inspired by the lakes, rivers, islands, and boats of the Adirondacks. He owns three galleries, and if you're ever in Alexandria Bay, NY, I urge you to stop in by boat or car and admire an amazing display of Adirondack art. So Be It!
— When I first saw this print, I immediately thought of Frank and Joe Hardy, racing across Barmet Bay in their runabout, Sleuth, headed for home in Bayport! Sons of famed NY Detective Fenton Hardy, Frank and Joe aspired to follow in his footsteps, and had already proven adept at thwarting swarthy criminals in such classics as The House on the Cliffs
, The Hidden Harbor Mystery
, and The Mystery of Cabin Island
. But in Michael's own words, the original painting, So Be It! was in fact "…commissioned by the Schwalm family as a retirement gift for the patriarch of the family, Tom, the originator of the popular SoBe juice drinks. The painting features a classic mahogany Sea Lion as it races for home through rough waters ahead of threatening storm clouds. Regardless of the obstacles placed in Tom's path, once he set his mind to something, nothing could deter him. In this case, beat the storm home — So be It!" We offer both framed and unframed prints and artist-embellished canvases in 2 sizes; 12" x 18" and 15" x 23". For framed prints and canvases, specify 2" Chestnut Paddock Frame, 3" Walnut Veneer Winston Frame, or 2.5" Burl Wood with Roping Moulding Frame.
Framed prints are matted on a double acid-free backing, with UV protective glass. All materials are archival quality.
Framed canvases include a 1/2" liner for the Chestnut and Burl Wood, and are sans liner for the wider Walnut Veneer Frame. Artist-embellished canvas prints are enhanced by the artist himself—adding additional texture and color to the canvas so that you truly have an original work-of-art. They are then varnished with a protective 100% UV and waterproof varnish—no glass is required for framing.
Approximate dimensions for the framed 12" x 18" print are 22" x 27", and for the framed 15" x 23" print, 25" x 32". The 12" x 18" canvas is approximately 18" x 24" (including frame), and for the framed 15" x 23" canvas size, 21" x 29".
