Big Easy: The Wide Wedge That’s Super-Sized To Get You Out of Any Bunker, Every Time!
I followed Jay Sigel for a few holes last summer at a Champions Tour event. I like Jay because he held out longer than most guys before eventually turning pro. As a result, he had a heck of an amateur career, winning the U.S. Amateur Championship twice, as well as the Mid Amateur and British Amateur. Jay also has won 8 times and $9 million on the Champions Tour. And it was through Jay that I was first introduced to The Big Easy, which he used time after time to effortlessly explode out of greenside bunkers.
It’s huge (actually more than twice the size of an ordinary wedge), with a massive hitting area and sweet spot that makes you grin with confidence as you address the ball. The double-wide cambered sole slices right through the sand without digging in, and the extra mass down super low in the clubhead explodes the ball up and out of any lie.
So you can also use The Big Easy for those scary shots around the green from thick, heavy fringe — the huge face and 60º loft pops those shots up and settles the ball gently next to the pin. So easy it’s almost unfair, so I hope the equipment police at the USGA aren’t paying attention! Steel and RH only.
