Fabbrica d’Armi Pietro Berretta S.p.A., or simply “Beretta” to James Bond, “Q”, and other connoisseurs of quality, is the world’s oldest firm, enduring for nearly 500 years of continuous operation!
 They are, of course, the world’s most respected gunmaker, and as I discovered recently in England, makers also of exceptionally fine sportswear. Located on venerable St. James Street, right around the corner from the historic Ritz on Picadilly, Beretta’s London store is one of just six such Galleries worldwide.
Here is just one of my favorite acquisitions.
 The Barrier Sweater comes in both quarter and full-zip models, in a rugged Italian wool weave that puts nature’s finest insulator between your body and bone chilling cold. Inside, the Beretta Wind Proof liner — a breathable, quiet, yet remarkably effective membrane — completely blocks cold wind from penetrating.
 So you stay warm and dry, yet never clammy, as BWP lets moisture freely escape. Ribbed knit cuffs and bottom keep drafts out; stand-up collar lined in fleece for comfort.
