Fabbrica d’Armi Pietro Beretta S.p.A., or simply “Beretta” to James Bond, “Q”, and other connoisseurs of quality, is the world’s oldest firm, enduring for nearly 500 years of continuous operation! They are, of course, the world’s most respected gunmaker, and as I discovered recently in England, makers also of exceptionally fine sportswear.
 Located on venerable St. James Street, right around the corner from the historic Ritz on Picadilly, Beretta’s London store is one of just six such Galleries worldwide. Invited to spend the weekend shooting clays in chilly Yorkshire, well north of London, I desperately needed suitable clothing both casual yet functional — so I turned to Beretta. Here are a few of my favorite acquisitions.
